20 new hand-forged copper pieces tonight!

I’m also taking pre-orders for the silver-dipped leaf pendants over on LJ.

Thank you for all your kind words and messages of support about Friday’s update. It was a heart-wrenching project, but it left me more at peace with where I am and where I’m going next, and I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of support and understanding. My heart goes out to those of you who are also struggling with infertility or loss.

I put up the calendar for the first half of March today. The second half is empty for the moment; I don’t intend to stop working, but I honestly have no idea what the IVF drugs are going to do to me, or how much time and energy will be consumed by the near-daily monitoring they’ll be doing.  So after the 15th, I will be taking things one day at a time, and we’ll see what comes of it.

This week’s update is not what I expected - but then, neither is the story that it tells.

As some of you know, I have been struggling with infertility for nearly four years. It has been a long and very difficult journey, and it’s not over yet; we start IVF this month.

When I sat down at the workbench this week, I was planning to work in forged copper. Instead, I found myself chronicling the past four years in wire and stones, and in the process, making peace with the experience. As with its sister collection, Women’s Stories Women’s Secrets, I have left these pieces without individual commentary, to allow them to tell their own stories without the influence of my voice.

so, about those leaves.

I can’t keep the Icestorm pendants in stock, which is leading me to think that maybe I should just order a LOT of the leaves and be done with it.

So. Let’s see a show of hands. How many people want an Icestorm pendant?

They’ve been $65 - $95 thus far, depending on the leaf and complexity of wirework. If I order in quantity, and do the photographs IGM style (quick snapshot, instead of baking myself under photofloods for ages) I think I could get the prices down by $5 or so. I can get the leaves in oak, maple, aspen, birch, and cottonwood. I’m not limited to the amethyst and moonstone design; pretty much any stones you want could work, although it might change the price.

This doesn’t obligate you to buy anything; I’m just trying to get a sense of how many people are seriously interested. Thanks!

By popular demand, more Icestorm pendants - and I made a few other things while I was at it.

Also, all handspun yarn is on sale through midnight tonight.

24 new winter-themed items tonight: more silver leaves, some gorgeous grey moonstone, icy River Road pendants, sea opal glass, and other things inspired by the stark whites and greys of winter in New Hampshire.

Next week’s update will return to forged copper, and after that I’ll be bringing out some bright spring-inspired designs!

A tiny unscheduled update, with a sneak peek at the fruits of my latest NYC shopping trip: labradorite, moonstone, sunstone, garnet, and more!

Ephemera & Antiquities collection

42 vintage-inspired items tonight, including the long-awaited Leonard’s
Fantasy series, two skeins of handspun art yarn, more of the filigree
leaves, several linked necklaces, and a few Valentine-themed pieces.

I will be out of town from Saturday through Tuesday; I will be shipping
Saturday morning and again on Wednesday morning. Orders containing open
editions or other custom-made items will be shipped by Friday.

The Very Short Attention Span Update

Handspun yarn makes its Wyrding Studios debut, along with sterling silver hand-forged rings, silver-dipped leaves, and various and sundry other things that made me go OOO SHINY this week.

Haiti fundraiser update

The final tally, including matching contributions from employers, is $1640. You guys. That is so much more than I expected when I started this last week.

I’m going to have to stop offering the shiny incentive, as I have a pretty hefty list of things to make and send out and it’s going to take me a few weeks to get everything done, but I thank you all so very, very much.

If you missed my offer, but still want to get involved in something like this, there’s an Etsy shop called Help For Haiti that has hundreds of hand-crafted items for sale, with all proceeds going to Doctors Without Borders.
